A signing ceremony was held on March 16 at VIV Asia 2017 in Bangkok, where Dr. Erich Erber, founder of BIOMIN and the ERBER Group, along with Kasetsart University President Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat endorsed the memorandum of understanding.

The stated purpose of the research agreement is “to promote the application of technology and innovation in animal nutrition and animal health.”
Upon signing the research agreement, Dr. Erich Erber said “I am glad that the ERBER Group family of companies can look forward to close collaboration with eminent Thai specialists and professors on animal health to address key issues for safe and sustainable food.” In 2014 Dr. Erber was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) honoris causa by Kasetsart University for his lifetime achievements and contributions to the livestock industry.
New research center
The research initiative includes a new 2300-square meter research center based on a design concept created by swine expert Ferry Entenfellner, DVM in collaboration with Dr. Kai Grathwohl, Director of Division R&D and Business Development at SANPHAR. Construction is set to begin in 2017.
The state-of-the-art facilities will be the first of their kind in Asia outside of China and Korea, and will be equipped with advanced HEPA filter ventilation and waste disinfection systems. Research will have a particular focus on biosecurity and development of innovative technologies in the field of animal health.
