FUMzyme® the only enzyme against fumonisins is now also available for all post-pellet applications.
Unique, specific and irreversible … for the most efficient mycotoxin risk management!
FUMzyme® is our breakthrough, patented and registered purified enzyme to biotransform fumonisins into non-toxic metabolites1. Now BIOMIN is offering a revolutionary product, FUMzyme® sol, suitable for all kinds of liquid applications after treatment with temperatures higher than 90°C.
This product was developed to address the new needs of the feed industry which is moving towards manufacturing temperatures that go above 90°C to control feed borne pathogens and to fulfill the needs for special characteristics in terms of pellet shape and consistency.

Fumonisins are the second most prevalent mycotoxins worldwide. They undertake synergistic interaction with other mycotoxins and are a problem in animal production.
Unlike aflatoxins and due to their chemical structure, fumonisins cannot be bound by “binders”. The figure below demonstrates the pH dependency of adsorption of fumonisin by different binders on the market:
FUMzyme® sol is sold as a powder that can be easily dissolved in tap water or with emulsifiers in oil and then sprayed on extruded pellets after heat treatment.
5 – 15 g of FUMzyme® sol (depending on fumonisin contamination) are added to a minimum of 100 ml of tap water (1) and mixed for 2 minutes (2). The FUMzyme® sol solution is then filled in the tank (3) for the post-pellet liquid spraying (4) and sprayed onto 1 tonne of feed.
The detoxifying activity of this revolutionary enzyme was confirmed in in vitro and in vivo experiments. FUMzyme® converts 60 ppm fumonisin B1 into the non-toxic metabolite after just 15 minutes.
